DENVER (AP) ? Former Gov. Bill Ritter through a spokesman says that he has not received a call from the White House about a possible cabinet post.
The Washington Post in a political blog Monday named Ritter as a possible replacement for U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who is said to be leaving President Barack Obama?s administration next year.
Ritter is director of Colorado State University?s Center for the New Energy Economy. CSU spokesman Mike Hooker Tuesday says Ritter has not been contacted by the White House.
Also mentioned by the blog as possible replacements for Chu are: Tom Steyer, head of Farallon Capital Management; Obama 2008 transition head John Podesta; former North Dakota senator Byron Dorgan; and Susan Tierney, co-head of the 2008 Obama transition team.
