Nintendo Co.?s Nintendo 3DS held the No. 1 hardware rank in the latest Japan retail data.
Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 66,980 units between Mar. 25 and Mar. 31 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 76,553 the week prior.
The 3DS ranked three titles in the top 10, including Luigi?s Mansion: Dark Moon at No. 1 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf at No. 3.
Nintendo in Jan. cut sales projections for the Nintendo 3DS to 15 million units from 17.5 million units. It has sold 29.84 million 3DS units to date.
The company posted a profit of $160 million for the first nine months to Dec. By comparison the company recorded a $531 million loss the year prior. It reported revenue of $5.9 billion, down from $6.1 billion the year prior. Finally, the company?s operating loss narrowed to $64.4 million from $180.4 million one year prior.
